School-Club Links

The School Club Links Programme is designed by Wiltshire FA to create and sustain effective links between schools and clubs. Through the School Club Links Programme Wiltshire FA aims to:

• Create a robust Club Links programme that supports the recruitment of new players and teams as well as the retention of potentially struggling teams and to develop different formats of community football
• All schools to have an understanding of their local Charter Standard football clubs
• To support the delivery of the County Youth Futsal programme
• To support the delivery of the County Football Futures programme

In 2011/12, the WCFA School-Club links plan the projects are:

1 To work in partnership with 20 named Secondary schools in Wiltshire, to deliver futsal coaching (targeting u12, u14 and u16 girls).

To develop five Futsal Girls Secondary School Leagues.

To support the running of the ESFA County, Regional and National Competitions.

2 To deliver 3 one day Disability events in Chippenham, in partnership with Chippenham Town Council / Stanley Park, Development Manager.

Targeting adult participation, aim to create 1 new adult disability team.

3 To deliver 6 coaching sessions into two named Swindon schools, target children with a disability, working in partnership with STFC FITC officers.

Targeting boys and girls, aim to create 1 new disability team at u12.

4 To deliver 6 coaching sessions into two named Calne schools, target children with a disability, working in partnership with Calne Town Council / Beversbrook, Development Manager

Targeting boys and girls, aim to create 1 new disability team at u12.

5 Support Trowbridge Town in the retention of team players in mini soccer mixed football. By the delivery of coaching sessions into Local Primary schools.

6 Support FC Abbeymeads in the retention of team players in mini soccer mixed football. By the delivery of coaching sessions into Local Primary schools
