On Tuesday we travelled across to Devizes Leisure Centre where we hosted over 100 youngsters with varying disabilities and special needs.
The last six to seven weeks has seen our coaching team deliver sessions at all the Special Needs schools in the county stretching from Swindon to Salisbury across Devizes, Calne and Chippenham.
This is the sixth year we have run this special day and again the sun shone making it another fantastic event. We were delighted to welcome Mike Spearman our Community Trust Chairman, Kirsty Brammer, Wilts FA CDM and Marie Saunders, PA to the Chief Executive, who came along to watch the children and to hand out the awards at the end of the festival.
Mike Spearman Community Trust Chairman commented, " It was a real privilege to attend this festival and to see the smiles on all of the participants faces. The smile of the little girls face keeping goal from her wheelchair was indeed a real treat to witness. The festival ranks very highly on our annual calendar and the Community Coaches give all of their best to make it such a special occasion."
Kirsty Brammer commented:
“It was fantastic day and credit to all those involved. Wiltshire FA is committed to working with partners to develop a grassroots structure that provides local, playing opportunities for players with a disability. The SEN festival ran by Adam and his team encourages football within special schools and units throughout Wiltshire. It helps to provide the children involved with a positive experience so they will look to join one of our disability football clubs across the county in the future.”
