The following under 14 and under 16 Girls were nominated from Wiltshire County FA Girls’ COE to attend the South West trials in Plymouth:

Under 14 age group – Charlotte Haynes, Hannah Attewell, Megan Fear and Lidia Fedyszyn.

Under 16 age group – Amber Matthews, Kelly Nightingale, Libby Gale and Victoria Summerfield.

The Wiltshire Girls were amongst some 70 players that were coached over a full day, with FA Scouts in attendance to observe both training sessions and match performances.

Barry Pocock, Centre Director, gave praise to all participating Wiltshire Centre of Excellence Girls and, after speaking with Alan May, FA Head Scout, was pleased to report that several favourable comments were received with regard to the performance of the Wiltshire Girls.

“It was a joy to receive praise from the FA’s Head Scout about the progress made at Wiltshire within the past twelve months. It is also very pleasing to hear that Hannah Attewell has now been included within the FA’s tracking list and that her future performances will be monitored at training and matches by the FA”.
“I have been advised that an FA Scout will be attending fixtures at Wiltshire County FA Centre of Excellence over the next few weeks, thus allowing the Girls some additional opportunities to impress with regard to potential further selection at England under 15 and under 17 national squads. This is just the lift that was needed for Girls’ and Women’s football in Wiltshire and I look forward to the day when a team from the County of Wiltshire is playing in the top flight of Women’s football”.
“Praise is certainly due to all members of Coaching Staff at the Centre of Excellence, and also to officials at Wiltshire County FA for the continued effort and support given to the Girls’ Centre of Excellence and to the development of female football in general in Wiltshire ”.

Wiltshire County FA Centre of Excellence for Girls strives to develop and nurture talented and gifted female footballers to ensure the nation continues to have quality players available.
