10:18 AM, Thursday, 11 November 10.

Tammy Pembleton has recently been appointed to the post of ‘Get into Football Officer’ working from the Wiltshire County Football Association. This FA funded post with a contribution from Swindon Borough Council will have an emphasis on adult participation and associated football development work within the Swindon Borough.

Tammy has a wealth of experience in the sports development field and is looking forward to making a positive impact in Swindon working with our various partners.

Steve Neale, County Development Manager, at Wiltshire County Football Association said;

“In the summer the FA invited applications from County Football Associations working in partnership with the respective local authority to bid for a number of these new positions to be established across the country aimed at increasing participation in football for those aged 16+. Working closely with Swindon Borough Council and to tight timescales we were delighted to receive confirmation of our successful submission from the Head of the National Game at the FA. We now have a resourced 3 year ‘Get into Football Plan’ to drive increases in participation and which in turn will support Swindon Borough Council’s priorities in terms of health & well being and participation levels.

Tammy’s appointment will also complement the work of Emma Small, Football Development Officer, so that Emma can focus more time undertaking similar work for the rest of Wiltshire as well as supporting this type of work conducted by Swindon Borough Council and other partners in football.”

Tammy can be contacted at the Wiltshire County Football Association by e-mail at tammy.pembleton@wiltshirefa.com or by telephoning 01793 486047.
