Football Services Manager

Salary: Circa £25,000 + Pension

Here is an exciting opportunity to be involved at the frontline of grassroots football for the County Governing Body. This full-time (35 hours) senior position reports directly to the Chief Executive and will be responsible for managing the Football Services Department.

The role will require the successful candidate to manage the day to day running of the department as well as undertake several process led functions within Football Services. You will take the lead on investigating, advising and charging on breaches of rules and regulations, and lead on affiliations and sanctioning.

 Office Operations 

  • Manage and lead the Football Services Department to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently adhering to the Association’s Values
  • As part of the Senior Management Team help develop and sustain an effective business model
  • Design and develop services, products and procedures to meet the needs of our clubs, leagues, referees and volunteers
  • Manage and lead the Football Services Department to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently adhering to the Association’s Values

Discipline

  • Manage the complete Disciplinary process to ensure FA memorandum of procedures and regulations are complied with
  • Manage and conduct investigations into alleged breaches of FA rules and regulations including those falling under The FA’s Anti-Discrimination procedures
  • Manage the process of Personal and Non-Personal hearings and sit as secretary
  • Provide proactive support to club and league secretaries to ensure a full understanding of the Discipline process 
  • Manage the complete Disciplinary process to ensure FA memorandum of procedures and regulations are complied with

Sanctions

  • Lead and manage the renewal process for the sanction, affiliation and registration of Leagues/Competitions/Associations and Clubs
  • Support Leagues and Clubs with affiliation and sanction processes 
  • Lead and manage the renewal process for the sanction, affiliation and registration of Leagues/Competitions/Associations and Clubs

Applicants must have an understanding of grassroots football and the league and club structures that a County Football Association governs. A "Customer Excellence" ethos is of paramount importance as is the ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively and be a strong team player. The Football Services Manager is responsible for leading and developing members of the Football Services Team and will shape and support the longer term Business Plan of the Association.

The benefits package includes a generous allocation 28 days annual leave + Bank Holidays, a 3% contributory pension and training opportunities. The post holder will be required to work in the County Office based at Units 2/3 Dorcan Business Village, Murdock Road, Dorcan, Swindon, SN3 5HY.
