Match Report: U18 Rep Fixture

Sunday 24th September 2017

The Wiltshire FA U18 representative teams' league campaign didn't start as well as they would have liked with a 4-1 loss v Oxfordshire in the South West Counties Championship fixture held at Westbury United FC.

Oxfordshire started the game very lively, testing the Wiltshire keeper (Adam House) within the first couple of minutes with Adam pulling off a number of good saves to keep Wiltshire in the game.

Oxfordshire's pressure would come to use when they took the lead with a smart finish just inside the area from Kyreece Martei.

Wiltshire continued to be pressed back with Oxfordshire piling on the pressure.  An unlucky mistake at the back from Oxfordshire meant Wiltshire number 9 (Harvey Flippance) was through on goal.  With only the keeper to beat, Harvey slotted the ball into the bottom left corner of the goal levelling the score.

With the score all even, Oxfordshire continued to look the side most likely to take the lead.  When Referee (Shane Mansfield) spotted a foul inside the box he awarded Oxfordshire a penalty.  Henry Landers stepped up for Oxfordshire and sent the keeper the wrong way regaining their lead.

Wiltshire responded in the correct way by going to the other end of the pitch and finishing off a well worked goal - only for the goal not to stand due to an offside decision.

HALF TIME: Wiltshire 1 - 2 Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire continued to attack with a number of team plays in and around the area.  This would come to good use when Dan Collins finished off a clever goal putting Oxfordshire 3-1 up.

Noah Alabi then fired the ball into the back of the net for Oxfordshire finishing the game and giving them a well-deserved victory.

FULL Time: Wiltshire 1 - 4 Oxfordshire
