FA Charter Standard Status awarded to Salisbury FC
Wiltshire FA have awarded FA Charter Standard status to Salisbury FC.
The FA Charter Standard Programme is the FA’s accreditation scheme, open to all clubs affiliated to Wiltshire FA, that aims to raise standards in the grassroots game.
Tim Hall, Senior Football Development Officer at Wiltshire FA said, “Well done to Salisbury FC. The FA Charter Standard status recognises their hard work, commitment and quality. We are proud the club is building a safe, inclusive environment where people can enjoy football.”
Clubs who achieve FA Charter Standard status must maintain high standards and demonstrate they offer well-run and sustainable football clubs, prioritising qualified coaching, safeguarding and respect.
Tim continues, “The Club have been excellent since we started working together, a special thanks must go to Jim Ayres & Richard Plumb who have been instrumental in working with the County FA to meet the relevant criteria to be awarded Charter Standard.’
FA Charter Standard makes a positive difference to the way clubs are run and to people’s enjoyment of football. This positive atmosphere encourages participation and helps to both grow and sustain the game.
Club Chairman at Salisbury FC, Ian Hammond said, “We are delighted to be an FA Charter Standard Club. I am proud of the team for all the work they have done to achieve this, ensuring the club meets the criteria and providing evidence that the Charter Standard ethos is running throughout the club.
“It is so important for us to ensure we are providing a good, positive experience for our players, volunteers and supporters.”
Salisbury FC is in the Southern League Premier Division South. As a phoenix club Salisbury FC began on December 2014 after the administration of Salisbury City FC.
The club play at Raymond McEnhill (Ray Mac) Stadium, a 5,000 capacity, purpose built football stadium at Old Sarum.
Tim concludes, “The criteria clubs have to meet is challenging but achievable. It is great to support our clubs to raise the standard of football across the County.”
There are benefits for clubs to be accredited to The FA Charter Standard such as information on key events, player and volunteer recruitment and retention and kit vouchers. Wiltshire FA are committed to developing and supporting grassroots football and are working to develop additional, local benefits for FA Charter Standard clubs in Wiltshire.
