WROUGHTON THROUGH AND THROUGH
6 Players. 1 Club. 13 Seasons.
Wroughton Youth Football Club have recently celebrated six youth players for their dedication and loyalty to the club.
Starting their journeys in the U6 squad, Zac Brown, Alex Jankinson, Elliott Price, Tom Starr, Jacob Watkin and Josh Woodhead have just finished the season representing the U18’s, after playing all 13 seasons at the club.
David Mills, Club Secretary said, “This is an amazing achievement for these young men. The Wroughton Youth FC Committee are extremely proud to recognise their commitment to grassroots football and their allegiance to the club.”
Sticking together, season after season, this loyalty demonstrates the powerful effect football can have. Beyond the physical and mental benefits, the game also promotes social interaction and community, allowing young people to form strong friendships, bond as a team and build a sense of belonging.
Shane Comb, Football Services Manager at Wiltshire FA said, “We are pleased to recognise the dedication of these players. Our aim is to keep players in the game, ensuring there is enough opportunity for all. Well done to the boys, and also well done to Wroughton Youth FC for consistently engaging and motivating their players – this is a great accolade for the club.”
