Is your U18 team coming to the end of their youth football journey?
If so it’s coming to that time of the season when you’re all probably thinking what next for my team and players? We all know that some players are already playing in open age football but what about those players who aren’t quite ready or want to carry on playing with their mates?
We have put together some information that could support your youth team into the next step.
Local Adult Leagues
This document highlights which adult Leagues are in your area, what days they play on and the League Secretary contact details should you be considering continuing your youth team into and adult league. Several U18 teams have successfully made this transition into adult leagues in the past few seasons.
If you are considering entering an adult league with a new team then we can support you with a small grant of £1,500 to create a new adult team via the Football Foundation Grow the Game scheme. Please note the deadline for the grant is Wednesday 29th March. More information can be found HERE – please get in touch so we can support you through this application.
U21s Flexi League
Wiltshire FA is looking to run another U21s Flexi League starting in the middle of April. This flexible format would give you and a good idea of how they will deal with this step up and will give an opportunity for the team to stay together for a few more years - it will also give you the opportunity to seek some other players aged 16-U21 to play in the team should you need extra players. The format of this League includes:
• Tuesday night games – 8.05pm & 9.05pm KO’s
• 50 minute games
• 3G Central Venue – Wootton Bassett Sports Association
• Rolling Subs
• Minimal administration
• No pitch preparation
If you would like more information on any of the above or to register your interest for the U21s Flexi League then please contact Adam Greaney on email@example.com or 01793 486047 / 077956212301. Please note there are only a maximum of 8 spaces available in this Flexi League.
