Leagues & Competitions Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within a flexible, dynamic, fast-paced and regulated Football Services team here at the Wiltshire FA. 

Vacancy: Leagues & Competitions Officer

Closing Date: Friday 20th September 2019

Interview Date: Friday 4th October 2019

Salary: up to £20,000 depending on experience

Term: Fixed term contract

Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours per week (part-time and flexible working will also be considered)

Location: County FA HQ, Swindon (relocation to Devizes in March 2020)

Wiltshire County FA is the not-for-profit, governing body of football in Wiltshire.  We grow participation, promote diversity and regulate the sport for everyone to enjoy.  With over 19,000 players, 1,000 affiliated clubs, 406 referees, Wiltshire County FA is proud to support football for all.

The Association is set for transformational change during 2019/20 season as we prepare to develop a brand-new purpose-built football ‘hub’ facility in Devizes. The new facility promises to be a beacon for football in Wiltshire that services the entire community.

The Leagues & Competitions Officer will be an integral member of the team in supporting our mission as leaders of grassroots football, listening, educating, administering and developing the game for everyone.

The post holder will be part of the Football Services team and directly report to the Football Services Manager.

Job Purpose:

  • Lead the Wiltshire FA County Cups programme to ensure delivery of a high-quality cups competition within pre-agreed budget
  • Support leagues to successfully transition onto FA Whole Game System (WGS) and incorporate player registration
  • Raise the profile of cups to enhance customer satisfaction, increase participation and attract additional investment, working closely with the Marketing & Communications Officer
  • Provide assistance to leagues and clubs to support a smooth affiliation and league sanctioning process
