The local leagues within Wiltshire have played a key role in delivering these sessions and have worked in partnership with the Wiltshire FA to ensure that their individual pool of referees have signed up and undergone the training.
Due to this co-operation, we have been able to ensure that only referees who have undertaken the update session are now refereeing grassroots football at both youth and adult level within Wiltshire.
Of the 306 referees so far registered this season, 87% have attended the workshops offered, with a final webinar session taking place on Thursday 29th September 2016 leaving only a small number still requiring the training.
Referee Development Officer, Kevin Small commented “I would like to thank all the referees who have taken the time to attend these courses and I know that for some this was the first training that they’d undertaken in a number of years. As a result of this, we hope the standard of refereeing in the County will improve and I would like to say a big thank you to the local leagues for their help and support in delivering this training programme.
