UPDATE: The impact of COVID-19 on Grassroots Football

26/03/2020

Update regarding COVID-19 (26/03/2020)

The FA has confirmed today that the 2019-20 season will now be brought to an end, and all results will be expunged. This will mean no promotion or relegation of clubs between NLS steps three to six, and no promotion to NLS step two.

All grassroots football is now concluded for the 2019-20 season.

This will allow the game to move forward and to commence planning for next season.

As a result of this announcement we will be supporting our grassroots leagues over the coming days to determine how they should close out their current competitions.

All of our County Cup Finals have been postponed. As these matches are slightly more flexible we still aim to rearrange our final matches when it is safe to do so.

As a result of COVID-19 Wiltshire FA has suspended our grassroots football interventions and we are informing our leagues and clubs to cancel matches, training, kick-about's and informal gatherings until further notice.

All Wiltshire FA Courses have been postponed for the foreseeable future, candidates affected have been contacted.

Wiltshire FA Head Office is now closed to walk-in visitors, staff will remain contactable via the usual landline - 01793 486047.

Wiltshire FA is committed to supporting the grassroots football community, we ask for your continued understanding at this difficult time of unchartered territory for us all.

We will review the situation on a weekly basis in line with the FA and the Government advice.
