Roots and shoots initiative scores in Devizes

Multiple partners have come together with us and Wiltshire Police to bring a new football inspired initiative to the young people of Devizes. Launched in August at Green Lane Playing Fields, 12 girls and boys between the ages of 11 and 16 took to the all weather 3G pitch at our £1.7m FA facility.

The new initiative is to run for 15 weeks and will enable invited young people to engage in positive football activities each Friday evening during the school holidays and beyond.

The partners, including Aster Group, Sovereign Housing, Devizes Town Council, Youth Offending Team and Wiltshire Police have contributed to the costs of running the scheme including astro turf boots for those who needed them.
