Girls Emerging Talent Centre
The ETC forms part of the Lioness Talent Pathway which identifies and prepares talented young players with the potential to become a senior Lioness. With the objective of winning major tournaments, our pathway plays an essential role in the identification and confirmation of talent and ensuring the best players are available to Women’s England teams.
In Wiltshire we provide a professional environment to allow Elite Female Players to reach their full potential within the game and have the opportunity to progress up the Player Pathway.
As well as additional coaching, players can expect to receive 1:1 support from their coaches, additional opportunities for learning outside of training, player reviews throughout the season, support from FA members of staff around injury prevention and a Nike Kit package.
From the Wiltshire ETC programme, Elite Players could be selected to attend a FA Regional Development Programme (RDP) which involves Regional Hub Days and additional opportunities to attend FA Performance Hubs throughout the season.
The programme will continue to support the long term development of the players and provide them with the tools to achieve their goals while moving through the FA’s Lioness Talent Pathway.
The ETC will be based at the Wiltshire FA Headquarters, Green Lane, Devizes, SN10 5EP on the 3G Football Pitch and training will take place on Monday evenings as detailed below. Player’s ages are based on School Years from September 2022:
U12’s (Year 6 & 7) 6.00pm - 7.30pm
U14’s (Year 8 & 9) 7.30pm – 9.00pm
U16’s (Year 10 & 11) 7.30pm – 9.00pm
Goalkeeper Specific Training 6.30pm - 7.15pm
The ETC provides extra training and support in addition to the coaching players receive at their grassroots club. Every player will continue to play for their club, and receive extra coaching one evening a week from FA qualified coaches. This includes specialist coaching for goalkeepers.
Players will also play in Regional ETC fixtures and festivals against other Advanced Coaching Centres in the South West Region and a fixture programme that will involve playing against mixed teams predominantly during school holidays and occasional weekends.
We encourage players playing in Girls Teams and Mixed Teams to attend the trials as well as those who play football with their school.
*The programme is subject to a successful FA license application
