Wiltshire FA is delighted to share the details of this season's Pokémon Futsal Youth Cup by England Football. This seasons county qualifiers, for Girls teams only, delivered in partnership with Wiltshire Women & Girls League, took place on Sunday 26^th February 2023.

Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced form of the game that originates in South America. Played with a smaller, heavier ball on hard pitches with small-sided 5v5 teams, Futsal places emphasis on technical skill in restricted spaces.

Ashley Cornick – Football Development Officer (Women and Girls): “Futsal is high energy, and the game moves a lot quicker so decision making on and off the ball is key. At Wiltshire FA we encourage our grassroots teams to introduce small-sided games including Futsal as a developmental tool to challenge players physical, technical and mental abilities. We are very excited to host this seasons Pokémon Futsal Wiltshire Cup and hope that this will inspire more opportunities and boost participation across the county. The FA Pokémon Youth Futsal Cup is a national competition whereby the winner team from each age band at the county qualifiers progress to the Regional tournament on the 17th and 18th June 2023 at the University of Wolverhampton, Walsall.

The winning age group from each of the 4 regional heats will then qualify for the National Finals taking place on 8th and 9th July 2023 at the University of Wolverhampton, Walsall.
